Island Living was conceived by Dr. Chia-Yu Chen, PhD. specialising in Tumour Biology. She herself is a loving wife, a loyal daughter, one of three sisters and a mother of two young children.

也是母親、妻子、在泰國與世無爭的象島，生根落地的台灣人。
土生土長的台灣中部人，因為自己本身的媽媽是專業芳療師，從小就習慣與精油為伍。嫁到香港之後，由於先生工作上的高壓金融業環境，開始認真為他研究調配精油舒壓。有了小孩之後，也利用精油來舒緩大小不適。產後變為全職媽媽，自己其實很適應不良-由做癌細胞的基因轉殖到整天追小孩換尿布，精油也幫自己舒緩低潮的情緒。為了讓全家有更有品質的生活環境，2019年初，夫妻決定搬來遠離塵囂的泰國象島，開始了島嶼的夢幻生活。Island Living 也在此創立。
